Band feature /// White Lies

White Lies were born, or rather re-born, in 2007 when the band Fear Of Flying were disbanded due to alienation of the musicians from the music they used to play. The newly-formed musical unit perfectly reflected the new direction taken by the members of the band which was a darker sound and different lyrical topics. The musicians described the notion of white lies being dark which suited their music perfectly. It was time to move on…

At the beginning of their new life White Lies spend several months rehearsing before going onstage for the first time under their new name. During less than half a year White Lies managed to create such a great media buzz, that the gig attracted much attention which resulted in everyone suddenly becoming very aware of the band.

Performed in deep, rich voice, White Lies tunes possess the sort of cosmos dimension and spaciousness. They can drift into more solemn mood and then all of a sudden switch to a lighter tone. But one thing that remains unaltered throughout all music by White Lies is the grand, if not epic, air. The inside description was offered by Harry McVeigh, White Lies’ singer and guitarist, who called the sound of his band ‘euphoric and uplifting’ which says it all: Β White Lies keep up the great job of making the music which belongs to the outer space rather than planet Earth.
