Song of the day /// Canterbury ‘Saviour’

canterbury-band‘Saviour’ by Canterbury  is the track off their 2012 sophomore album ‘Heavy In The Day’. The song boasts a blistering melody and totally electrified zeal to it, showcasing to the full Canterbury’s talent and charisma. Relatively stripped-back verses are followed by explosive, anthemic choruses and the bridge just before the final chorus hits, exceeds all the limits in the levels of energy: being restrained and quiet to ‘Saviour’ is simply not an option. It’s more possible than not, that this track will hook you up – you’ve been warned.

Genuinely talented, Canterbury have chosen a DIY approach to making and distributing their music, so that they remain their own bosses. The band’s debut record ‘Thank You’ was released for free download as Canterbury thought it unsuitable for an up-and-coming band to ask fans pay for their debut. The album got a massive number of downloads in the first days and it was crystal clear that Canterbury had started off in the right direction. 2012 saw the release of the band’s second album ‘Heavy In The Day’ – a critically acclaimed album, which got raving response from fans and journalists alike. This, together with highly successful tours, is cementing Canterbury’s positions on the UK scene firmer and firmer.
