Song of the day /// Young Guns ‘Bones’ (Acoustic)

young-guns

It’s been more than a year since the release of Young Guns’ sophomore record ‘Bones’, but the buzz around this album shows no signs of fading down: ‘Bones’ is still high on demand and goes on summoning more and more new fans to Young Guns’ camp.

The acoustic interpretation of the title track ‘Bones’ is a powerful, striking, stripped back offering that sounds rather contrary to in-your-face full-band album version. Determination, storminess and forcefulness are replaced with vulnerability, lyrical nature and touching emotionality. Acoustic ‘Bones’ drops some qualities to acquire new ones and present its other nature to the unsuspecting world, but what it doesn’t drop is its ability to capture listeners with genuine charisma and talent of the performers.

I don’t know what it is about Gustav’s voice but there is so much realness in it. I love their slow stuff, especially ‘You Are Not’ – that’s one of my favourites from them for sure.
