Meet a real technical beast ‘Anchored’ as track number six off ‘Old Bones’.

Track 6 – ‘Anchored’

Honest ‘Anchored’ reminds of a huge hammer that threatens to destroy all the surroundings – the act which is restrained only by a bit of cleans and graced by a signature heavyweight, imposing riff. It’s as masterful as other tracks and full of honest passion that colours the whole record.

Ursa Major on ‘Anchored’

Main Inspiration – When we wrote this Parkway Drive’s ‘Deep Blue’ had just been released. I think this song will undoubtedly have some ‘Deep Blue’ influences throughout.

Main Message – It’s about a general period in my life that to be honest, I’m not too proud of. I would say it’s about becoming someone you don’t like and wanting to change yourself, which isn’t the easiest thing to do.

Connected Story – We had written and demoed this song at least a year before the album recording but we always put off learning it…I guess we where all pretty scared of it at the time!

Anything else? – This is the last song we have left to fully have ready for a live set. It’s a real tough one and was working hard to get it ready for our release show.
