Looking back at 2013 /// The Minx

Do you know The Minx? Well, if you don’t then you’re missing out dramatically and this is your final chance to catch up. Vocalist and guitarist Chris Haddon recollects 2013 as it was for The Minx.
Biggest achievement of 2013
2013 has been great for us, the biggest achievement has to be selling out all 3 consecutive hometown Manchester shows (Soup Kitchen, Deaf Institute, Sound Control). They were great!
Highlights of 2013
Getting stuck in a service station just south of Birmingham until 6am the following morning is definitely top of the list.
Most memorable show played in 2013
Our latest sold out hometown headline show at Manchester’s Sound Control is definitely currently top of the list, it was perfect.
Most memorable show seen in 2013
Watching Mick Jones and the Justice Tonight band at The Ritz in Manchester late 2011 is still one of my favourite gigs. The atmosphere was electric.
Favourite album of 2013
One of my favourite albums of 2013 is from fellow Wythenshawe band “Dirty North”. We grew up with these guys and I’ve been waiting for a debut album for ages. It’s raw and fantastic.
Best music discovery of 2013
I really like a band called “Parquet Courts” from the US, I heard BBC6 music start playing them a lot and think they’re great. Not had chance to see them live yet though!
Plans for 2014
We’re hoping for another busy year. We’ll be re releasing our debut single (No Friends), maybe another single and then we’ll have to start looking at a debut album! Our headline shows will get bigger and bigger, especially out of Manchester. We’re going to take over the world.
