My Great Affliction

My Great Affliction Announce EP Release

The year 2012 saw great line-up changes in the camp of My Great Affliction. Inevitably, these changes have led to some changes in the sound too: it’s considerably evolved since previous line-ups and also became more powerful and raw. The first EP ‘Paragon Of Girth’ of the new My Great Affliction era is set to be released on 29th April 2013 and this is the release not to be missed.

BasickRecordStoreDay

Basick Records Announce Exclusive Releases For Record Store Day

UK’s independent record label Basick Records is taking part in this year’s Record Store Day by releasing four limited edition vinyl albums exclusively for the event on Saturday 20th April. The vinyls, limited to 500 copies each, will include Chimp Spanner – ‘At The Dream’s Edge’, Uneven Structure – ‘Februus’, Skyharbor – ‘Blinding White Noise’ and The Algorithm – ‘Polymorphic Code’.

Nathan Barley from of Basick Records says: “It’s great to be involved in this year’s Record Store Day, which is a hugely important date in the industry calendar. As a fan of not only the medium of vinyl, but also of independent record stores, it’s incredibly exciting for our label to be able to help raise awareness of their plight.  Everyone over a certain age remembers the wonderful experience of walking into a record shop and delving headfirst into racks of vinyl, to unearth a gem and it’s something that the next generation of record buyers should be able to experience for themselves.”

Record Store Day takes place on 2oth April this year and will see participation from about 200 independent music stores all over the UK and Ireland. This event has become a very important one in the music world over the past few years. With a lot of exclusive editions of renowned albums re-released especially for Record Store Day, the cult of buying vinyls from independent shops is being reborn to celebrate unique music culture.

Voodoo Six

Voodoo Six: Tour With Iron Maiden And New Album

Voodoo Six are going to have some busy times soon. 27th May will see the release of their sophomore album ‘Songs To Invade Countries To’ via Spinefarm Records. This album is a follow-up to 2010’s debut ‘Fluke?’.

Voodoo Six guitarist Chris Jones says:

“The album title was something that came about ages ago, but took on another dimension when we heard the news that we’d be going out with Iron Maiden on the ‘Maiden England’ tour. It’s about taking our music further afield, and into new territories. We can’t wait to play to overseas audiences on this tour!

The release of the album coincides with Voodoo Six’s embarking on tour with Iron Maiden which will include several major festival appearances.

Iron Maiden founder & bassist Steve Harris says:

“I’ve been keeping an eye on Voodoo Six for a while now, and they’ve produced a cracking new album with real promise. It’s great to support true British up ‘n’ coming talent such as theirs, and it will be a pleasure to have them out with us on tour.”

Silent Screams

Silent Screams Announce New Single And Singer

Coventry metallic hardcore outfit Silent Screams have announced their new single ‘The Way We Are’ that’s charted on iTunes and presented their new vocalist Joel Heywood.

Guitarist Ozzi Osman explains:

“We feel that the arrival of Joel has brought a new energy and excitement to us as a band and this is really shining through in the way we now approach writing songs. His vocal range has given us new depth and helped inspire us to write music we never thought we could ever have written before.

We were blown away with the reaction we got for the new single (The Way We Were). We didn’t know what people would think of our new sound and new vocalist but the response has been amazing! The release of this single could have gone either way but it went really well. The reaction to Joel was amazing. We are very excited for the future and cannot wait to show the world what we have to offer on the next release.”
