Reptile – ‘Confused’ [Single] 2016

Since their formation in 2014, London-based Reptile have been touring relentlessly and gaining more and more listeners into their loyal following. The same year the band released their debut EP ‘Something and Nothing EP’ which presented the musicians able to mix various genres fluently and talk about a wide range of topics. Come 2016 and Reptile strike with their new single ‘Confused’. Heavier and bolder than anything Reptile did before, ‘Confused’ takes the collective to a new level.

‘Confused’ starts off ominously with a heavy-weight intro full of darkness and mysterious arrangements. This mood then carries on for the whole song interwoven into weighty melodies, laden with power, striking and crushing down without mercy. But who needs mercy when we talk brutal and at the same time thoughtful passages, clean powerful vocals and a delicious slow-burning touch to the whole track which makes ‘Confused’ a real treat. Very intense and saturated in tones, ‘Confused’ sees the musicians sharing vocal duties between Bill Gough (guitars) and Luke Cloherty (vocals) and adding fresh synths for an ultimate listening experience.

Aiming at reviving the traditions of truly English well wrought, genuine rock ‘n’ roll, Reptile are well on the way to doing so.
